Fox Lake Retreat - Something for everyone
An abundance of wildlife can be seen in this region.Deer, Antelope, Coyote, Prairie dogs, Elk and Moose are all common around the area.
Bird watching Heaven
The Prairie Falcon, Swainsons Hawk,Burrowing Owl and Humming Bird can be spotted just to name a few. For a full list of birds in our area please visit the town Website.
Hunting & Fishing
A wide variety of wildlife can be hunted during the correct seasons. Thousands of Canada (Lesser and Greater), White-fronted, Snow and Ross geese all migrate over Hanna, During September to November. In addition nineteen different species of ducks can be found also, giving great duck hunting.
Mule deer White-tailed deer and Antelope are all native in the surrounding areas of Hanna.
Both Ice and summer Trout fishing can be done around Helmer Dam, only half a mile from our retreat.
Blood Indian Reservoir is South East of Hanna at Big Stone, Which is one of the top fishing spots in Canada.
More fishing opportunities are found at the McLaren Dam, Michichi, Crawling Valley Reservoir,and the Red Deer River, where fish species include walleye, sauger, pike, goldeye and mooneye.
